‘Made by surfers, for surfers, to surfers’

Stoned is a bilingual lifestyle surf magazine, representing Asian surf culture and beyond, but also diving into skateboarding, filmmaking, motorcycling and contemporary art. With its DIY turned high-end aesthetic, candid film shots and atmospheric storytelling, Stoned forms a beautiful container for documenting personal stories born within subcultures.

This fifth issue is titled ‘The Crown Days’ and serves as a record of stories and interviews documenting lived experience both in the time leading up to and during the pandemic. Accompanied by sepia hued photographs, the issue makes visible the freedom afforded by surf subculture during a period of heightened restrictions on movement.
